Fall Exhibition Reception
Celebrating:
• Voices of Influence: Celebrating the Impact of Women in Art
• TRACES: Jo Sandman from the Black Mountain College Museum + Arts Center
• Ceramic Artists of The Bascom Clay Symposium featuring Andrew Godfrey Shaw, Alexander Thierry, and Tiffany Thomas
The fall reception concludes the season with exhibitions that foreground legacy, innovation, and artistic leadership. Visitors can engage with community artists whose works honor the influence of women in the arts, encounter the experimental and historically rooted practice of Jo Sandman through the Black Mountain College Museum partnership, and meet the featured ceramic artists of The Bascom Clay Symposium. This reception encourages insightful dialogue across mediums and generations, bringing together artists, scholars, supporters, and visitors who value the power of artistic impact and exchange.
Exhibition Receptions at The Bascom
Each season, The Bascom welcomes the community to gather for a series of exhibition receptions that honor the range of artistic expression found in our galleries. These events highlight both contemporary practice and historical perspectives, offering space to encounter new work alongside significant works from the past. Receptions provide a meaningful opportunity to speak with artists, curators, and other contributors, gaining insight into the ideas, histories, and processes that shape each exhibition. Visitors may also enjoy connecting with fellow art enthusiasts in an informal, welcoming environment. Light refreshments are served, encouraging conversation and a shared sense of discovery across our campus.
