Youth Classes & Workshops
Our youth classes and workshops are designed specifically for younger artists below the age of 18 years old to explore, develop, and get real hands-on instruction in a variety of mediums.
Youth Homeschool Pottery: Logs, Leaves, and Mushrooms
We will use nature as our inspiration while we explore form and texture in clay. Students will glaze their work during the last class. Work will be available for pickup or shipping two to three weeks after the final class.

Bee Kind! Shine Your Light! Youth Luminaries
Kids will design and decorate luminaries as they practice mindfulness, reflect on kindness, and learn how to let their unique light shine—one glowing creation at a time.
Ages 7-12
This class is presented in partnership with the Counciling Center of Highlands and the Highlands Cashiers Health Foundation as part of their Bee Kind mental health awareness initiative.
All Ages Pottery: Toad Houses
All Ages Pottery: Empty Bowls
Come help us make bowls for the annual Empty Bowls fundraiser, which supports the International Friendship Center and the Highlands Food Pantry. You will make a bowl to donate and one to keep for yourself. Student work will be available for pickup or shipping two to three weeks after class.

The Bascom invites young artists to work with Caryn Raming turn everyday discarded materials into imaginative artworks while learning creative ways to reduce waste. Through hands-on exploration, participants will discover how reuse and creativity can transform trash into meaningful art.

Cardboard Centerstage!
The Bascom invites young creators to work with instructor Caryn Raming to design and build imaginative stage sets using cardboard. This hands-on workshop introduces the basics of set design and encourages teamwork, creative thinking, and big ideas brought to life in 2D and 3D form.
