Learn to Turn: An Intro to Woodturning
Students will make beautiful and useful turnings using the three basic cuts of woodturning with gouges. We will begin in “spindle orientation” by turning a mallet, a tool handle, a goblet, and a twig pot. Then we hope to make at least two bowls, one with a round top and one with a natural edge. We will practice safe technique at the lathe as we also learn to sharpen the gouges using various jigs and tables. |
Kid Kollective
We are going to put the A (Art) in S.T.E.A.M. this summer during the summer STEAM workshop. Explore how art, science, engineering and more overlap to keep us creative, collaborative, and excellent problem solvers.

Trays All Kinds of Ways
If you want to learn how to make all kinds of different serving trays and unique dishes, then this is the class for you!
We will cover a variety of hand building techniques such as slab construction, coiling, pinching, carving and cutting to give you the skills to make any kind of tray that you can dream up.
This class will include both daily demonstrations and hands-on instruction in a fun and supportive environment that will help you unlock your hand building potential.
How to Nail Color Harmonies and Color Pops for Killer Skies and Atmospheric Paintings
"Using my simplified values and design techniques, I will step by step show you how to add harmonious color pops and atmospheric skies that take your paintings to a moody, atmospheric level in a fun and positive way.In addition we will cover new mental tips that automatically enhance your abilities. I have further researched new techniques to help you advance more easily and swiftly .We will continue to cover how to easily establish a great design , strong value base foundation and make great shapes, and use of the illusive but powerful edges tool. Let your creativity run wild while learning to craft handmade printing paper, carve printing blocks and use a printing press in this fun workshop that is all about printmaking.

Using Cold Wax medium with Oils
Build complexity and richness to your work with cold wax and oils. In this workshop we will explore how to use wax and other mediums to build up translucence and texture in your oil paintings.
Sculptural Shenanigans!
Explore all things three dimensional while working with a variety of fun materials including papier mache, metal, and wood.

Landscape Drawing Class
Landscape art has been around as long as art itself. This drawing course is a beginner course about drawing outside in nature. It is designed not only for the beginner, but the artist who wants to brush up on their drawing/sketching skills.
Mixed-Media Mayhem!
Using all of your favorite messy materials, participants will create amazing artworks in mixed media using paint, charcoal, oil pastels and more. Aprons are provided!

The Landscape “In-Between Realism and Abstraction”
This class will merge the knowledge of the fundamentals of classical landscape painting as a foundation, combined with the understanding of the basic principles and elements of abstraction in order to loosen up in your painting. Pushing one’s landscape artwork with a variety of mediums and tools as a way of loosening up and going beyond the basics, as well as heavy discussion on changing design and composition to push outside the obvious.
