Up to seven sculptural works will be selected for installation on The Bascom campus in Highlands, NC and at locations in Cashiers, NC. For 2026 - 2028, we are pleased to continue our partnership with Vision Cashiers to install two selected works in prominent public locations in the vibrant neighboring community of Cashiers, NC. If you are interested in having your work presented in Cashiers, NC location, please let us know.

Honorarium

$1,500 | Submission to the Call is Free. 

All works are to be:

  • Suitable for outdoor installation and ready for display upon arrival.
  • Structurally secured and able to be surface mounted to a concrete pad.
  • Capable of withstanding adverse weather conditions, such as high winds, heavy rain, and temperature changes.
  • Maintenance free during the duration of installation.
  • Delivered, installed, and picked by the artists or their provided representative with tools and materials provided by the artist (No access to a crane or other heavy equipment).
  • Remain on site for the duration of the exhibition.
  • Completed prior to submission. No incomplete works, project proposals, or works previously displayed at The Bascom will be considered.
  • Each artist may submit up to 3 separate entries.
  • No size restriction & All mediums considered.

Submission Guidelines

Please submit the following to Director of Exhibitions, Zach Rogers, at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..

  • Artist name, email, and phone number
  • High-resolution JPG images (at least 300dpi/1MB)
  • Title, medium, dimensions, and date of artwork
  • Installation requirements/procedure

Calendar of Events

  • Submission Deadline: March 15
  • Decision Notification: March 20
  • Deadline for Work Delivery: April 30

Sales

Artists may sell the work during the exhibition period. However, the work must remain on site for at least one year before being transferred to the purchaser. Transactions will be processed through The Bascom. (60/40 split for artists).
