The Bascom works with several schools, and after school enrichment programs in the Highlands-Cashiers area as part of our Community Education Initiative. Chances are, your young artist is already participating with The Bascom through a Community Education program.
smART Space
smART Space is The Bascom's interactive learning environment located in the Greehey Atrium Landing. Explore self-guided art activities, books from The Bascom Library, participate in a Lego building challenge and more!
Hudson Library KID ZONE
The Bascom Education & Outreach Department is proud to partner with the Hudson Library for Kid Zone. Come down to The Hudson Library for literary themed visual art projects with The Bascom.
Ruth Eckerd Children's Gallery
Visit the Bascom’s Trail Level to view selections of work from the Bascom’s Community Outreach and Summer Programs, and participate in our exhibition related gallery activities in the Ruth Eckerd Children’s Gallery.
Get Your Passport Stamped!
The Bascom is one of four (4) kid-friendly trails on the Highlands Plateau Greenway needed to complete the stamps in the Kids Hike Highlands Passport Program. Young explorers and natures lovers can hike our nature trail to get a stamp.
When all four stamps have been collected, participants may pick up a special prize located at either theHighlands Town Hall, Highlands Recreation Center, The Chamber of Commerce, The Library, or The Bascom. They also receive a "I Hiked Highlands!" sticker and pin.
