DESCRIPTION:
 You will experience active learning strategies to teach scie
 nce and math through art\, movement\, dance\, drama\, and poetry. You will
  leave with practical tools you can use on Monday to spark curiosity\, dee
 pen engagement\, and strengthen memory through the arts\, in science and m
 ath.
 Two professional development opportunities for Macon and Jackson Co
 unty Teachers will take place at The Bascom in Highlands March 4 and April
  15. Teachers will actively engage with the art in the Bascom and connect 
 it to math or science. The Southeast Center for Arts Integration’s educa
 tors and teaching artists\, who have decades of classroom experience\, wil
 l lead the workshops. They will incorporate brain research\, multiple inte
 lligences and social emotional learning with the NC Standard Course of Stu
 dies in Math and English Language Arts\, and Essential Standards in Scienc
 e\, Theatre Arts\, Visual Arts\, and Dance.&nbsp\;
