Youth Art Programs

The Bascom offers distinct programs for children ages 4-18 including hands-on art experiences and youth exhibitions. Expanded offerings include ceramics, intergenerational classes and outdoor art-making. 

The Bascom's Community Youth Art Program

Winter session begins week of January 19, 2010

Various materials / Beginning to advanced

  • Tuesday After School Classes – Susan Nastasic teaches this ongoing study for elementary-age students, kindergarten through sixth grade, Tuesdays from 3:15–4:30 pm. $40 for 8-Week Session.
  • Wednesday Preschool Creativity Classes for Parent and Child – (Ages 2 1/2–5) On Wednesdays from 11-11:45 am, instructor Katy Calloway will introduce the very young to art activities designed to develop creativity. $40 for 8-Week Session.
  • Saturday Art School – Send your child to art school for the morning. Kindergartners through eighth graders are welcome Saturdays from 10 am to noon for fun, hands-on, age-appropriate art classes. $64 for 8-Week Session.

The Bascom's Summer Camp

An annual summer camp is offered for children ages 5-13. Students learn crafts, clay, painting and mixed media and can drop in for one class or take them all. Check back for 2010 offerings. Photos of the 2009 session are below:
