Acrylic Painting from Photo References


Monday-Friday
September 24-28   10 am – 4 pm

Medium: Painting
Level: I & II
Instructor: Ann Strub
Tuition: $375 member/$410 non-member

Join in on this “user friendly” class where there is no right or wrong answers! Work at your own pace and receive individual attention from the instructor. Students are expected to have basic drawing skills and will take home finished acrylic paintings with subject matters of their choice. Students are encouraged to bring images of figures, still life, interiors or any other narrative image you find inspirational. Begin or expand your knowledge of acrylic painting in a relaxed learning atmosphere.
Ann began her career in theatre after graduating from Newcomb College in New Orleans. At md life Ann began her journey as a visual artist after studying at the New Orleans Academy of Fine Art. Ann draws on roaring 20 images, which are inspired by her mother, to create bold, narrative, portrait and figurative works with strong attitudes and a sense of drama. Ann’s work can be found in numerous collections.

Supply List: Palette, brushes, container for water and brushes, white school chalk, four 20” x 20” canvas boards, spray bottle to fill with water to keep paints wet, four charcoal sticks, 2B to 4B pencils for drawing, photographs and/or magazine pictures for inspiration, sketchbook, acrylic polymer medium – gloss, acrylic paints colors: titanium white, mars black, cadmium red, quinacridone red, cerulean blue, phthalo blue, hooker green, phthalo green, cadmium yellow
