Medium: painting
Instructor: Lory Lockwood
Levels: II, III

Dream big whether you want to make abstract or realistic two-dimensional fine art! Participants will use these “dream machines” brought to the Bascom campus as their subject matter for expressive drawing, photography and acrylic painting. Emphasis will be on reflections, mechanics, abstraction and/or photorealism. Not a subject you would normally explore? Give it a try, we believe you will cherish the finished work you take home or give as a gift to your favorite dreamer.

Lory Lockwood is an artist who specializes in photorealistic automobile and motorcycle fine art. This contemporary style exudes a power of obsessive detail that focuses on chrome reflections, bright colors and abstract patterns. Lory’s interests range from vintage, exotic and classic autos like Rolls Royce, Bentley, and Mercedes Benz to bikes such as Harley-Davidson, Gilera and custom choppers. Her exquisitely detailed paintings are inspired by visits to car and motorcycle shows nationwide. Currently, she lives and paints in New Orleans, LA. Lory holds a BFA from Tulane University and an MFA from the Vermont School of Fine Arts. She is represented in galleries in New Orleans, Houston and Nashville, and her work is widely collected and included in multiple museum collections nationwide.
