Surprise yourself and have fun doing it! In this 3-day class, you will explore the concepts of light and human vision opened by the Impressionists through the use of sketchbooks, canvas, and camera. Bring the effects of light into your own contemporary painting to take home!

Diane McPhail holds two Master’s degrees: an M.F.A. in studio art and an M. A. in clinical art therapy. She also holds a Doctorate in Ministry with a focus on creativity and spirituality. In addition to her extensive experience as a painter, she has also served as a gallery director and curator. Diane has taught privately, in numerous workshops, and in the continuing education program of the Atlanta College of Art. Her exhibition history includes numerous juried, group, collaborative and one-woman exhibitions. Her work is represented in prestigious private and corporate collections, regionally and internationally.

Supply List: Recommended Acrylic Paints: hooker's green, Alizarin Crimson, Cadmium Red Medium, Ultramarine Blue, Pthalo Blue, Cadmium Yellow Medium, Lemon Yellow, Titanium White; Optional Colors: Cadmium Orange, Dioxanine Purple, Yellow ochre, palette, 1 long-handled wide flat brush- 2" wide, 1 long-handled wide flat brush- 1/2 " wide, other brushes you love, try to avoid small brushes (I find them inhibiting!), palette knife, roll of paper towels, painting surfaces--can be stretched canvas, canvas board, wet media canvas sheets (you will want you to work as large as possible), Digital Camera of your choice (if you do not have one, you can borrow mine!)
