Ceramics Beginning and Beyond - October - 10 am - 12 noonTuesdays and Thursdays Medium: ceramics Begin your ceramics experience or take it to the next level by disappearing into a quiet, nurturing environment. There is playfulness to working with clay; a feeling that is fostered and encourage in these classes. The focus is on skill building and specific projects n hand building techniques, such as coil and slab, as well as throwing on the wheel. Fee includes one bag of clay, firing and glazing. Additional clay is available for purchase. Frank Vickery has been working in clay for 20 years with multiple years devoted to instruction in clay arts. His personal art works are concentrated in wheel throwing but Frank also has extensive experience in hand building and creating and embellishing clay forms. Frank has a Bachelors in Art Education and Bachelors in Fine Art from Winthrop University and a Masters of Fine Art from Western Carolina University. Currently, Frank is the Ceramics Program Manager at The Bascom. Supply List: Clay and equipment are provided. Experienced students may bring their personal clay tools.
