2009 Collective Spirits Wine Festival
May 29-30, 2009The eagerly awaited first event to be held in The Bascom's new $11 million architect-designed facility will take place May 29-30 when wine lovers from all over the region celebrate the third annual Collective Spirits wine festival.
Featured activities of the two-day event will include wine tastings from the premier distributors in North Carolina, silent auctions, artistic demonstrations, a symposium and sparkling wine tasting led by leading U.S. wine specialists, all capped off by a gala seated dinner under a tent on The Bascom's new terrace, followed by a live auction of exceptional wines and special services and events.
All proceeds benefit The Bascom, a nonprofit visual art center.
"This event further establishes Highlands as a wine destination, and the fact that it is the first event in The Bascom's stunning new facility will not be lost on the guests," said Donna Woods, The Bascom's events director. "The 2009 Collective Spirits is sure to be a crowd-pleaser."
