A Never Ending Stream: The Art of Linda Anderson

Recent paintings by Linda Anderson reveal how her bucolic scenes have matured and become more refined. Anderson’s work continues to surge forth in a never-ending stream of pictures, stories and fantasies. This exhibit will display a selection of Anderson’s early works along with more recent ones revolving around the things she loves.

In an on-going partnership between The Bascom and Highlands School, the Highlands High School Ceramics Class, taught in the Studio Barn during spring semester, will display their best work, based on traditional and contemporary approaches to making and finishing ceramic works of art.

ReDress is an exciting collection of amazing couture creations by Santa Fe artist Nancy Judd, each piece meticulously constructed from everyday throwaways, and each with a message for, by and about our contemporary lifestyle.
In her Artist Talk, Judd will talk about her couture fashion sculptures made from trash and how she uses them to engage people in thinking about environmental conservation. She will share the unusual journey that has brought her to this unique career and tell stories about some of the difficult choices she has made along the way.
Form Follows Function
June 8 – September 1
Atrium
Specific types of wood can capture the hearts of furniture collectors, but the underlying form is of great importance. A rocking chair should be very comfortable, but can a dining chair be too comfortable? Ten craftspeople will be challenged to design a piece of furniture based on the concept that “form follows function.” These pieces will be on display along with a description of how the furniture’s form was designed to follow its function.
