Taylor Work
Students in this five-day workshop will create several luscious silk scarves covered with designs and patterns created by several methods. The class will be guided in the use of acid dyes and various techniques for dying white silk scarves to be printed in a second stage. Instructor Janet Taylor will lead discussions about images and ideas to carve on to the printing surface. Printing with objects and stamping with carved images will be followed by steaming and processing through bathes until all chemicals are gone. At the conclusion, students will have scarves to take home and share.

Janet Taylor Studio is located in Spruce Pine, NC. She is a Professor Emeritus from Arizona State University where she taught in the School of Art for 23 years.
